With the Secretariat, Spencer oversees the conference making sure the delegate experience is top-notch! Helping lead and direct all events and activities during the entirety of the Conference, you'll see Spencer soon enough at the SSICsim 2016 opening ceremonies.

We asked Spencer some questions:

What Inspired you to get involved with SSICsim?

"I was inspired to get involved with SSICsim by seeing how much Model UN does for its delegates. As a member of my school’s Model UN team in high school, going to conferences significantly boosted my confidence, and allowed me to become comfortable working in big teams and speaking before large audiences. When I reached university, I wanted to staff a Model UN conference, and have a chance to give back to one of the organizations that shaped my youth."

What will delegates have most to look forward to and what do you hope they will take away?

"Delegates can always look forward to a creative and unique experience at SSICsim, as we are known for having engaging committees that encourage them to think outside of the box, and keep them on their toes. Part of this experience comes from the amount of freedom we allow our Committee Directors to have when planning their committees, as we value having a diverse set of ideas and practices. With our networking event and delegate social this year, we hope SSICsim also gives delegates an opportunity to build new and lasting friendships, as many of the people they meet here they will also meet at other MUN conferences ahead. We lastly hope that delegates will use the creative experiences we have to hone their crisis skills, whether they are novice or experienced, as the originality of our conference’s committees is truly unrivalled."
