Letter from the Secretary-General
A few words to delegates, staff, advisors, and guests from SSICSIM 2024’s Secretary-General, Keerat Gill.
Dear Delegates, Advisors, and Guests,
It is with genuine pleasure that I invite you to the 14th iteration of the Secondary School Interactive Crisis Simulation (SSICSIM)! On behalf of our Secretariat, Directorate and Staff, we are thrilled to welcome you to the beautiful and historic University of Toronto for our conference, which will take place from Friday, October 25th, 2024 to Sunday, October 27th, 2024.
Founded in May 2011, SSICSIM is an annual MUN conference hosted by University of Toronto students that challenges the conventional MUN structure. Instead, we encourage delegates to think creatively, act decisively, and react to evolving scenarios that resemble the unforeseeable nature of real-life crises. As the sole high school crisis-only Model UN conference in North America, SSICSIM prides itself on providing an unparalleled educational experience where delegates may immerse themselves in our innovative conference framework. Our committees are one of a kind and our Staff are deeply passionate about providing a high quality debate experience for all. At SSICSIM, there is something for everyone.
SSICSIM was founded on the principles of providing delegates and staff alike with an environment that allows attendees to convene, collaborate and negotiate with others of unique perspectives. Over the three days, delegates will debate richly and truly learn about the challenges and opportunities that arise in real-life crises.
Our conference is expanding. For SSICSIM 2024, we are dedicated to providing not just an event, rather, an experience where delegates may delve into the heart of our vibrant city, explore its cultural diversity, and truly engage with the University of Toronto and beyond. Bringing together 160 university students and welcoming over 350 attendees, SSICSIM 2024 is committed to providing an enriching and memorable experience for all.

Our team can’t wait to welcome you in October 2024 and showcase the immense care and effort that has been put into organizing SSICSIM this year!
